This is Alexis's part one:
Jacob Stein is being interveiwed.
He has no title or postition, he has just got fired from his WPA job.
He is a 17 year old jewish male from Poland.
Union Square, New York, New York.
The date of the interveiw is December 27, 1938.
The interveiwer is B. Hathaway.
.
In Jacob Stein's interveiw he talks about how he was in a gang and the gang leader named "Mike the Boss," had kicked him out. On top of that "Mike the Boss," claimed that Jacob was psychotic and tried to send him to the nut house. However Jacob never went to the nut house. He even says "Me? (interruption) I was in the crazy house? I never was in the crazy house. Mike the Boss sent you here. I was only in Bel-le-vue for a few days and they turned me loose. Said was nothing wrong with me." It turned out that at the Bel-le-vue doctors had just tested him to see if he actaully was psychotic. Afterward, Jacob explains why "Mike the Boss," accused him of being crazy anyway. He said that "Mike the Boss" had framed him to make it seem like he was making illegal ballots.
My impressions of Jacob Stein after I read his interveiw was that he was mildly educated or he had poor english. Some reasons why I think this is because he tended to abbreviate a lot of his words. For example, whenever he means to say the word "and" he says "an'." Another observation I have about Jacob Stein is that he has experienced a lot. Most of his experiences are negative. This is because he has dealt with the wrong people and got a little mixed up.

This represents the African American race during The Great Depression because during this time there were
many segregated areas. It was ridiculous how many things you would see segregated. Almost anything from
water fountains to movie theatres sperated whites from blacks. Also during The Great Depression you realized
how young America really was and what changes would have to be made to expand the country and allow it to
prosper. I say this because its so immature and arrogant how black people were seperated from white people,
when in the end, we are all people. The country had yet hit it's social and economical balance.
